This 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova SS two-door hardtop was cosmetically and mechanically overhauled approximately 10 years ago by a previous owner, and the seller acquired it in late 2019. The car was refinished in gold, its black interior was refreshed, and power comes from a replacement 327ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional features include 15″ Cragar wheels, front disc brakes, air conditioning, an aftermarket stereo, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and chrome-finished engine-bay trim. Service performed since November 2019 totals more than $2,700 and included the installation and adjustment of a four-barrel Holley carburetor with an electric choke as well as replacement of the front ball joints and wheel bearings. This Nova coupe is now offered with 15 years of receipts and records, recent service paperwork, magazines, manuals, and a clean Georgia title in the seller’s name.
The car has been refinished in gold in favor of its factory-delivered Marina Blue (F), and the exterior features chrome-finished trim as well as SS and 327 badging. Refurbishment work was performed under previous ownership approximately 10 years ago, and records indicate that the hood, trunk, and door hinges were adjusted and aligned in December 2019 for $2,125. Photos in the gallery below depict the paintwork and exterior trim in detail. Videos showing the driver and passenger doors being opened and closed can be viewed at each link, and a similar video of the trunk is shown here.
Chrome-finished 15″ Cragar S/S wheels wear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Front disc brakes are paired with drums at the rear. The upper and lower ball joints were replaced and the steering arms adjusted in January 2020.
The cabin was changed from blue to black under previous ownership. Features include black carpeting with Chevrolet-logo floor mats, air conditioning, a silver console, a Hurst shift lever and knob, SS badging, and an aftermarket head unit in the factory location. An electric antenna has been added to the trunk.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of a horizontal 120-mph speedometer flanked by auxiliary gauges. A tachometer has been added to the steering column, and supplementary auxiliary gauges have been fitted under the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 1,700 miles, less than 100 of which have been added by the seller; true mileage is unknown.
A mirror-finished plate between the outer skin of the hood and its supports reflects the engine bay when the hood is raised. The 327ci V8 exhibits XCB stampings that indicate it is a period replacement, and the seller had a four-barrel Holley carburetor with an electric choke installed and adjusted in November 2019. A video of the hood being popped is shown here, and a start-up video is available at this link. The exhaust note at idle can be heard here.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery.
Records and receipts are said to date back fifteen years and are organized by each area of the car. More than $2,700 in service records since November 2019 are shown individually in the gallery, and a number of magazines and other literature that will accompany the sale are also pictured below.
A walk-around video with the engine running is provided above, and a driving video can be viewed below.
