This 1966 Chevrolet Impala SS convertible was refurbished during previous ownership and was acquired by the seller from their brother’s estate in 2020. Power is from an overbored 396ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, both of which were reportedly rebuilt within the last 8k miles. Other work in that time is said to have included overhauls of the suspension and brakes. The car is finished in white over blue, and it is equipped with a replacement black soft top and an aftermarket stereo. This Impala SS is now offered with a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The exterior was refinished in white during previous ownership and features chrome bumpers, quad-headlights, Super Sport fender badges, dual side mirrors, and dual-exhaust outlets. Paint blemishes are noted on the hood, and a replacement black soft top was installed approximately three years ago.
15″ Super Sport wheels wear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The seller states that the brake booster, brake master cylinder, brake shoes, wheel cylinders, suspension bushings, ball joints, tie rods, and anti-sway bar were replaced.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in blue vinyl with cloth inserts, along with matching door panels and blue carpeting. Equipment includes a center console with a floor shifter, aftermarket auxiliary gauges, and a Boss stereo with a remote.
The blue-painted steel dashboard features an aftermarket cover and houses the stock radio, the climate controls, and a lockable glovebox with an Impala SS badge. The two-spoke steering wheel features a horn ring and fronts a horizontal 120-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows 84k miles.
The 396ci V8 was reportedly rebuilt 8k miles ago, with work said to have included boring the cylinders, turning the crank, a valve job, and the installation of a replacement timing chain and lifters. The seller reports that the three-speed automatic transmission was also rebuilt.
