This 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova was assembled at GM’s Norwood, Ohio facility and delivered new to DuTeau Chevrolet in Lincoln, Nebraska. The car is reported to be one of 1,734 two-door coupe examples equipped with an L79 327ci V8, which is said to have been rebuilt during a refurbishment conducted by a previous owner in 2018 that included exterior and interior color changes. Features include a four-speed manual transmission, a Positraction rear end, and period-style goldline radial tires. This Nova II is now offered in Maryland by the selling dealer with records and photos from the refurbishment as well as a clean Arizona title.
Finished from the factory in Mist Blue, the pillarless body was repainted in PPG Tuxedo Black with a clearcoat application during previous ownership. Details include re-chromed bumpers as well as bright rocker-panel accents and badging.
Black-painted steel 14″ wheels are equipped with Chevrolet-branded hubcaps and are mounted with period-style BFGoodrich Silvertown goldline radial tires. A matching spare is fitted in the trunk along with the stock jack.
The interior features replacement red seat upholstery with color-keyed door panels and headliner. Factory accessories include a two-spoke woodgrain steering wheel, a heater/defroster, and a cue-ball-style shifter. The car is equipped without a radio. The floors are lined with replacement carpeting according to the seller.
Instrumentation consists of a horizontal 120-mph speedometer accompanied by a fuel gauge and a five-digit odometer that shows approximately 91k miles. Actual mileage is unknown. The seller states that the gas gauge is inoperable.
The 327ci V8 is topped with a four-barrel carburetor and was rated at 350 horsepower when new. Power is sent rearward through a Muncie M21 close-ratio four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction rear end equipped with 3.73:1 gearing.
The engine stamping includes the sequence 171304, which match the vehicle’s serial number. Additionally, the ZI suffix corresponds with the L79 327ci engine for manual-transmission applications. Other images of stampings and castings on various components are depicted in the gallery below.
Additional underside images presented in the gallery show the Positraction rear end, steering linkage, front suspension, exhaust, and frame.
