This 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu is a Canada-built sport coupe that is powered by a 454ci V8 linked with a four-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in red over red vinyl upholstery, and features include power front disc brakes, Rally-style 15″ wheels, tubular front control arms, UMI Performance sway bars and rear control arms, an Edelbrock intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor, an HEI-style distributor, long-tube exhaust headers, a Hurst shifter, and a push-button AM radio. This modified Chevelle is now offered by the selling dealer in Canada with a car cover and Alberta registration.
The car left the factory finished in Regal Red. Exterior details include Malibu and Hurst badging, a driver-side mirror, bright rocker-panel and wheel-arch trim, and chrome bumpers. The paint has swirls, chips, and scratches, and the black tail-panel trim is cracked.
Rally-style 15″ wheels wear chrome trim rings and center caps and are mounted with 215/70 General Evertrek RTX tires up front and 235/60 Mickey Thompson ET Street drag radials out back. A BFGoodrich spare is located in the trunk. The car has been fitted with tubular front control arms and UMI Performance sway bars and rear control arms. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in red vinyl upholstery complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Equipment includes a center console, a Hurst shifter, a heater, black carpeting, and a push-button AM radio. The left-rear sail panel and both rear armrest covers are missing, and the glovebox door is scratched.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a column-mounted AutoMeter tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge. AutoMeter gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature are located beneath the center of the dashboard adjacent to a fuel-economy gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 21k miles; total mileage is unknown.
The 454ci V8 was installed under prior ownership and features an Edelbrock intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor, an HEI-style distributor, aluminum cylinder heads, and long-tube exhaust headers. The trim tag indicates that the car was originally equipped with an inline-six engine.
Power is sent to the wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a 10-bolt rear axle with a Moser differential cover. An aftermarket dual exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers has been fitted. Corrosion is visible on underbody components.
The trim tag located on the firewall decodes as follows:
- 13537 – Chevrolet Malibu two-door hardtop Sport Coupe w/six-cylinder engine
- 2-2-1 – Second shift, February 1
- 235310 – Body number
- R – Regal Red paint
- 772 – Medium Red Ramada cloth and vinyl upholstery
- B70 – Instrument-panel pad
- M35 – Powerglide transmission
The vehicle does not have a title and is being sold on its Alberta registration, which serves as the ownership document in Alberta, Canada.
