This 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS was purchased by the seller in May 2014, reportedly from its second owner of 26 years. Subsequent work included a repaint in Silver Blue, installation of a new convertible top, interior reupholstery, and suspension refreshment as well as a rebuild of its 327ci V8 and QuadraJet four-barrel carburetor. Power is routed through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, and features include a set of glasspack mufflers. This Impala is offered with a top cover and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The car was repainted in its factory Silver Blue (912) under current ownership, followed by replacement of the rear bumper as well as other exterior trim and moldings. A new white convertible top was installed in 2019 according to the seller. A pair of uninstalled rear fender skirts will be included in the sale.
Stock 14″ wheels wear stock covers as well as replacement BFGoodrich whitewall tires featuring pie-crust upper sidewalls. Steering and suspension work in January 2019 included installation of a new idler arm, shocks, ball joints, sway bar end links, and bushings.
The interior was reupholstered in factory-style blue vinyl with dark blue carpets under current ownership, and is equipped with bucket seats split by a center console with engine-turned trim matching that on the dash.
A factory steering wheel and radio remain mounted ahead of the driver. Instrumentation includes a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and a five-digit odometer showing 93k miles, approximately 1,200 of which have been added by the seller over the last five years.
The 327ci V8 is said to have been rebuilt with a .030″ overbore approximately 600 miles ago, though supporting records are not provided. The Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor, alternator, and power steering pump were also overhauled, and the battery was replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. A new kick-down linkage, driveshaft carrier bearing, and universal joints have been installed. Additional underbody photographs are viewable in the gallery below.
