This 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS convertible was acquired by the seller in 1996 and is powered by a 409ci V8 linked with a four-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in red over red vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a power-operated white convertible soft top, SS badging, power steering, power drum brakes, and 14″ steel wheels with SS wheel covers as well as a Hurst shifter and a push-button AM radio. Work since 2020 reportedly consisted of replacing the fuel tank, water pump, clutch, power steering hoses, shocks, spark plugs, and ignition wires and servicing the brakes, steering, and suspension. This Impala SS convertible is now offered with a clean Missouri title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in red and exterior details include a power-operated white convertible soft top, SS and Impala badging, quad headlights, chrome bumpers and trim, and engine-turned aluminum rear and side moldings. The paint has orange peel, the rear window is missing, holes are present in the convertible top, and corrosion is visible on the lower side of the rocker panels and doors. Steel 14” wheels wear SS-branded covers and are mounted with Merit Four Season whitewall tires. A non-matching spare is located in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted drums at each corner. Work since 2021 is said to have included overhauling the brakes and replacing the sway bar link, control arms, control arms bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints, shocks, and power steering lines.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in red vinyl upholstery and joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a heater and defroster, a center console, a Hurst shifter, engine-turned aluminum trim, and a push-button AM radio. There are holes in both front seat covers and the dashboard covering is loose at the edges.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a fuel level gauge, and an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 5k miles, approximately 3k of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 409ci V8 features a four-barrel carburetor, chrome valve covers, and an orange-finished intake manifold, engine block, and cylinder heads. Work since 2021 is said to consist of replacing the fuel tank and sending unit, water pump, thermostat, distributor cap, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, and ignition wires as well as servicing the cooling system.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Corrosion is visible on underbody components and the seller notes that the exhaust system requires service.
