This 1964 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova SS two-door coupe was reportedly modified for drag racing under prior ownership and was purchased in 1996 by the current owner, who subsequently performed further modifications in a Pro-Touring style. The seller reportedly installed the replacement 327ci V8, which is mated to a Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission, and the car has been refinished in metallic blue over black upholstery. Equipment includes 17″ Ridler alloy wheels, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, rack-and-pinion power steering, tubular front control arms, a four-link rear suspension, adjustable rear coilovers, and Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection as well as a cowl hood, air conditioning, aftermarket front bucket seats, an SST shifter, aftermarket digital instrumentation, and a retro-style digital head unit. This modified Nova SS is now offered on behalf of the owner with a clean Tennessee title in the owner’s name.
The car was finished from the factory in Palomar Red (948), and the rear frame rails, floors, quarter panels, wheel wells, fenders, and hood were reportedly replaced and refinished in metallic blue. Exterior details include chrome bumpers, a cowl hood, dual side mirrors, vent windows, bright trim, and “Nova SS” badging. Additional close-up images detailing badging, lighting, and trim are provided in the gallery below.
Ridler 17″ alloy wheels are finished in gray with bright lips and are mounted with 215/45 and 245/45 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires showing 2021 date codes. The car has been modified with tubular front control arms, a four-link rear suspension setup, and adjustable rear coilovers. The car features power rack-and-pinion steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs with Wilwood rear calipers.
The cabin is equipped with Procar high-back front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black upholstery, along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Sheetmetal surfaces are painted in a two-tone gray and body-color finish and appointments include air conditioning, lap belts, rear seat USB power outlets, black Nova SS-branded floor mats, an SST shifter, hand-crank side windows, and a Custom Autosound head unit.
An aftermarket steering wheel fronts aftermarket digital instrumentation that measures road and engine speed as well as voltage, coolant and oil temperature, and fuel level. The digital odometer shows 1,100 miles, all of which have been added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.
The replacement 327ci V8 sits beneath a chassis brace and was reportedly sourced from a 1966 Corvette. Features include a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection system, a Holley intake manifold, stainless headers, a serpentine accessory drive system, an aluminum radiator, and an aftermarket blade-style fuse panel and wiring harness. The engine compartment features aftermarket inner fenders, and the underside of the hood is painted in a two-tone gray and blue finish.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission and an SST hydraulically-actuated clutch. The transmission was reportedly modified by Silver Sport Transmissions of Rockford, Tennessee. The two-tone paint scheme extends to the underside, and additional close-up underbody images are included below.
