This 1963 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova 400 two-door sport coupe was refurbished in 2023 with work that involved installing a 383ci stroker V8 crate engine and repainting the car in blue over black upholstery. Equipment includes a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, four-link front and rear suspension, TCI air springs, a custom grille, side-exit exhaust pipes, headers, power steering, front disc brakes, Vision 15″ wheels, AutoMeter gauges, and a retro-style radio. This modified Chevy II Nova was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023 and is now offered with a spare grille and a California title.
Finished from the factory in Azure Aqua (918), the car was repainted during the aforementioned refurbishment. Features include a custom grille, bright headlight bezels, chrome bumpers, side-exit exhaust pipes, and Chevy II and Nova badging. Touch-up paintwork is noted, particularly on the rear passenger side of the vehicle.
Vision Wheel five-spoke 15″ wheels are mounted with 165/80 Supersteel 657 front tires and 205/60 Ziex Ze512 rear rubber. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. Four-link front and rear suspension is augmented by a Total Cost Involved Engineering air-ride system with a built-in air compressor. The car is shown with its suspension in the raised and lowered positions in the photo and video galleries provided below.
The cabin features bench seating surfaces upholstered in black vinyl and cloth, which were replaced during the refurbishment along with the carpeting, headliner, and shifter. Interior appointments include a padded dash, front seatbelts, an SX-5513 retro-style radio, Blaupunkt speakers, carpeted floor mats, and a heater. Controls for the air suspension have been added to the dashboard.
The billet steering wheel frames AutoMeter instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and gauges monitoring fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 350 miles, which is said to reflect the distance accumulated since completion of the refurbishment.
The 383ci stroker V8 crate engine reportedly was installed in 2023 and is complemented by Edelbrock finned valve covers, an Edelbrock air-cleaner cover, a Champion aluminum radiator, exhaust headers, and Flowmaster mufflers.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Footage of the underside is presented in the video gallery below.
