This 1962 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe underwent a multi-year refurbishment that was completed in 2018 and involved fitting a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 that is equipped with ported cylinder heads, Mahle pistons, and a Holley intake manifold. Shifting is through a four-speed 4L60E automatic transmission. The car rides on staggered-diameter US Mags wheels and Ridetech suspension components, while braking is handled by Wilwood calipers. Exhaust components include Hedman headers, Borla mufflers, and cutouts. Refinished in gold over a coordinated interior, the car also has power steering, xenon headlights, keyless entry, a Vintage Air climate control system, aftermarket instrumentation, and bucket seats separated by a center console. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2024, this modified Impala is now offered in Massachusetts with build records and a clean Florida title.
The body was refinished in gold as part of the build. Styling incorporates bright side trim with patterned white inlays as well as rocker panel molding, clear taillights, and chrome bumpers and trim. The car is also equipped with keyless entry and xenon headlights.
Five-spoke US Mags wheels measure 18″ up front and 20″ out back and are mounted with Kumho Ecsta SPT tires. Black Wilwood calipers are fitted over cross-drilled and slotted discs at all four corners, and the car is equipped with power steering. Suspension includes Ridetech control arms, front coilovers, and sway bars.
The refurbished cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in gold vinyl, which is complemented by color-coordinate door panels and carpets. A Vintage Air climate control system and a center console with cupholders have been fitted.
Aftermarket instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary readouts, while a tachometer is mounted atop the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 57k miles, a handful of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.
The selling dealer notes that the 6.2-liter LS3 V8 was installed in 2018 and equipped with Wegner ported cylinder heads, COMP Cams pushrods, Mahle pistons, and a Holley mid-rise intake manifold. The engine sits in a fabricated engine bay and is adorned with Impala-branded valve covers. Hedman headers feed an exhaust system that is finished with Borla mufflers, Dr. Gas Boom Tube tips, and cutouts. An RCi fuel cell and battery are housed in the trunk.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission as well as a 3″ driveshaft.
Service records reportedly totaling over $118,000 are included in the sale.
