This 1962 Chevrolet Impala coupe reportedly underwent a refurbishment in 2005 and was acquired by the seller in 2011. Finished in Tuxedo Black with a red side stripe over a red vinyl interior, the car is powered by a 409ci Turbo-Fire V8 equipped with dual carburetors and paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a 4:10 Positraction rear differential. Additional equipment includes a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, PerTronix electronic ignition, power-assisted brakes, an Alpine stereo, and more. Approximately 11k miles have been added by the seller, and an oil change was performed in February 2020. This Impala is now being offered with service records from the last nine years and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The exterior has reportedly been repainted in Tuxedo Black (950) and features a red side stripe along with chrome trim, front and rear bumpers, side mirrors, 409 badging, and yellow California license plates.
Chrome wheels feature matching hubcaps, and braking is handled by front discs with rear drums. The seller reports that KYB shock absorbers have been fitted.
The interior features front and rear bench seats equipped with lap belts and trimmed in red vinyl (874) with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Red rubber mats line the floors, and a chrome fire extinguisher is affixed to the transmission tunnel. An aftermarket stereo mounted under the seat is linked with Alpine speakers and an amplifier located in the trunk. The seller reports that the factory Delco radio is not functional, and the right turn signal does not always auto-cancel.
A red two-spoke steering wheel with a chrome horn button fronts a horizontal 120-mph speedometer along with a steering column-mounted 8k-rpm tachometer and an auxiliary pod that houses gauges for water temperature and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows just under 98k miles, approximately 11k of which have been added by the seller during his nine years of ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 409ci V8 features dual Carter carburetors and a PerTronix pointless ignition system. Ceramic-coated exhaust manifolds feed a dual exhaust system with H-pipes and Flowmaster mufflers. The seller reports an oil change was performed in February.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie M-21 four-speed manual transmission and a 4:10 Positraction rear differential. Additional underbody images are provided in the gallery below.
