This 1962 Chevrolet Impala was built in Baltimore, Maryland, and is said to have spent time in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and finally Florida, where it was recently acquired by the selling dealer from its previous owner of ten years. Power is provided by a 283ci V8 backed by a two-speed automatic transmission, and additional equipment includes power steering, power brakes, and a Vintage Air air conditioning system. An engine oil change has been performed in preparation for the sale. This Impala is now offered by the selling dealer at no reserve with past service records and a clean Florida title.
The car is finished in Roman Red (923), and the seller notes evidence of previous paintwork along the driver’s side fender. A replacement filler panel under the grille remains unpainted, and the body wears a number of scratches and imperfections that are detailed in the gallery below. A pair of rear fender skirts are included in the sale, and a walk-around video of the exterior is viewable here.
Steel wheels measure 14″ and wear full covers. Hankook Optimo whitewall radial tires are fitted, and an older Cooper spare resides within the trunk.
The monochromatic red treatment is carried inside to the dashboard, seat upholstery with cloth inserts, and matching tufted door panels. Amenities consist of a Vintage Air A/C system as well as an AM/FM radio. A walk-around video from the seller further displays the interior.
The metal dash fascia is fronted by a two-spoke steering wheel and houses a 120-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 61k miles.
The 283ci “Turbo Fire” V8 is topped with a two-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 170 horsepower at 4,200 rpm and 275 lb-ft of torque at 2,200 rpm. Drive is sent to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Service records document a new fuel pump, radiator, rear main seal, gaskets, and more in October 2012. Per the seller, an oil change and an engine detail were recently completed in preparation for the sale.
Additional photos of the underbody are provided in the gallery below, showing the suspension, floor pans, exhaust system, fuel tank, and underside of the powertrain. Videos featuring this Impala are attached below.
