This 1962 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe was sold new at Broadway Garage of De Pere, Wisconsin in May 1962. The car is finished in black over red and powered by a 409ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a front bench seat, heater and defroster, 14″ steel wheels with turbine-style covers, narrow whitewall tires, a dual exhaust system, and a push-button AM radio. The selling dealer acquired the car in 2022. Subsequent work is said to have consisted of rebuilding both four-barrel carburetors. This Impala Sport Coupe is offered with an original sales invoice and a clean Wisconsin title.
The car is finished in black and is said to have been repainted during previous ownership. Features include side moldings, quad headlamps, chrome bumpers, 409 and SS Impala badging, rocker panel trim, and a dual-outlet exhaust system. Paint is bubbling on both front fenders and around the wheel openings of both rear quarter panels.
The 14″ steel wheels wear turbine-style covers and are mounted with 205/75 Ironman RB-12 NWS up front and Reynolds Radial X/T narrow whitewall tires out back. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk. Braking is handled by unassisted drums at all four corners.
The cabin features front and rear bench seats upholstered in red vinyl joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a heater and defroster, a floor-mounted shifter with a cueball-style knob, lap belts, and a push-button AM radio. There is corrosion on the trunk floor, and the analog clock does not work.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and gauges indicating coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 43k miles, approximately 500 of which were added during current ownership. The column-mounted tachometer does not work.
The 409ci Turbo-Fire V8 breathes through dual four-barrel carburetors and features a dual snorkel air cleaner lid and an orange engine block. Work in 2022 is said to have consisted of rebuilding both carburetors.
The engine code and serial number are shown above.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
