This 1962 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova convertible was purchased new by the seller’s late grandmother and was inherited by the seller in 2019. Subsequent work is said to have consisted of installing a replacement grille, exterior trim, side mirror, transmission pan gasket, brake components, headlamps, and wheels. This blue-over-blue example is powered by a 194ci inline-six mated to a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission. Features include a blue convertible soft top, a heater and defroster, chrome trim and bumpers, 15″ Ansen Sprint wheels, and electronic ignition points. This Nova convertible is offered with a clean Idaho title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in silver blue and features a blue convertible soft top. Equipment includes chrome bumpers, a polished side mirror, body-side moldings, cast rocker trim, and Nova badging on the rear quarter panels. Work during current ownership is said to have consisted of replacing the grille, exterior trim, side mirror, and headlamps. The seller notes rust behind the left headlamp. The right front fender was reportedly damaged and repaired after an accident during the time the seller’s grandmother owned the car and it now does not sit flush with the headlamp surround.
The 15″ Ansen Sprint wheels are mounted with 175/65 Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 tires. A spare tire is mounted in the trunk. Braking is handled by unassisted drums at all four corners.
The cabin features two rows of bench seats trimmed in blue vinyl with reupholstered pleated inserts joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a heater and defroster, a lockable glovebox, front lap belts, rubber floor mats, and vent windows.
The two-spoke steering wheel has a chrome horn ring and frames a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 52k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added by the seller.
The 194ci inline-six is equipped with a single carburetor and was factory rated at 120 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. Work during current ownership is said to have consisted of installing electronic points and performing an oil change in 2022. The engine seeps oil and runs rich when starting.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. The seller notes that the transmission burps fluid, and the rear axle leaks fluid.
