The Nomad nameplate was applied to the four-door Bel Air station wagon for 1958. This example is finished in metallic blue and white and features four headlamps, fender darts, dual mirrors, wing windows, and tinted side windows.
Black 15″x7″ steel wheels wear replacement polished covers and BFGoodrich Silvertown radial tires with 2013 date codes. Power-assisted disc brakes have been fitted at both ends.
The cabin features twin bench seats wearing blue vinyl upholstery accented by matching carpets. Front shoulder restraints and rear lap belts were installed under the seller’s ownership, and an armrest and door bumpers were replaced.
An analog clock, a reproduction Wonder Bar radio, and aftermarket speakers were also installed for the seller. Other equipment includes power windows and an aftermarket air conditioner mounted below the dash. A new water temperature sending unit and oil pressure switch have been fitted. The five-digit odometer shows 25k miles, 500 of which have been driven by the seller. Actual mileage is unknown.
The 350ci V8 is said to have been sourced from a 1990s GM F-body and features tuned-port fuel injection as well as dual electric cooling fans. The car was serviced in 2014 by Petty’s Garage of Randleman, North Carolina, who replaced the valve covers, cleaned the fuel injectors, rerouted the air intake, relocated the battery, serviced the steering box, and carried out other work as detailed on receipts in the gallery below. A new fuel pressure regulator was fitted in March 2020.
A three-speed TH350 automatic transmission routes power to the rear wheels. The front shocks and coil springs were replaced under the seller’s ownership, as were a rear axle shaft, the exhaust manifold gaskets, transmission seals, and driveline fluids.
