This 1958 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe is a modified example that underwent a cosmetic refreshment before being acquired by the seller in 2016. A replacement 350ci V8 crate engine was installed in 2019 and is equipped with FiTech electronic fuel injection, and the three-speed automatic transmission was also fitted with a replacement torque converter in 2019. Additional work performed during current ownership is said to include the installation of front disc brakes, Cherry Bomb Turbo mufflers, TMI front seats, an electric cooling fan, and Dakota Digital gauges, along with a replacement fuel tank, springs, and shocks. The car is finished in metallic blue over a blue interior and also equipped with an Edelbrock intake manifold, chrome 15″ Ridler wheels, and a Lokar throttle pedal. This Impala is now offered with spare keys, partial service records, and a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in two-tone Silver Blue and Snowcrest White (982E), the car was reportedly repainted around 2015, and the seller notes portions of the chrome were refinished at that time. Exterior details include a wrap-around windshield, quad headlights, full-length side spears, and sculpted rear quarter panels with faux vents. The side and front-quarter window glass, frames, and seals are said to have been replaced during current ownership. Noted imperfections include mismatched rear antennas, cracks on the black striping on the driver-side chrome spear, an area of rust near the trunk latch, and paint bubbling above the passenger-side rear wheel well.
Five-spoke 15” Ridler wheels are mounted with 205/75 Hankook Optimo H724 tires that show 2015 date codes. According to the seller, tubular A-arms and a rear sway bar were installed along with replacement springs and shocks in 2017. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front disc brakes with cross-drilled rotors and rear drums.
The cabin houses a TMI split front bench trimmed in blue vinyl upholstery along with a matching rear bench fitted with gray fabric inserts. Appointments include an analog clock, lap belts for all occupants, and a Lokar throttle pedal and cable set. A push-button AM radio is housed in the dash, though no speakers are present and its functionality is unknown. The seller notes that the heater blower fan only operates on one speed, a trim piece behind the rear seats is missing, and the door locks are difficult to operate.
A two-spoke steering wheel fronts a Dakota Digital dash panel that consists of a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The digital odometer shows 4k miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The 350ci V8 crate engine was installed in 2019 and features a FiTech electronic fuel injection system that was recently installed, as well as an Edelbrock Performer EPS intake manifold, powder-coated exhaust manifolds, an electric cooling fan from Cooling Components, and an MSD Blaster 3 ignition coil. The fuel system was refreshed in December 2021 with a replacement tank from Tanks Inc., a level sending unit, and a fuel injection pump. The seller is unsure of the washer pump’s functionality.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, and a replacement torque converter and driveshaft bearing were reportedly installed during current ownership. The dual exhaust system is equipped with Cherry Bomb Turbo mufflers. Additional underside images are presented in the gallery.
