This 1958 Chevrolet Impala convertible is finished in Snowcrest White with a power-operated black soft top over a red interior and powered by a 348ci V8 equipped with tri-power induction. Additional equipment includes a two-speed Powerglide transmission, a Continental kit with rear bumper extensions, faux rear-fender vents, body-color fender skirts, quad headlights, a red boot cover, power windows, and a Chevrolet-branded cassette radio. This Impala is now offered on consignment by the selling dealer with a clean New Jersey title.
Introduced for the 1958 model year as the top trim level of the Bel Air lineup, the first-generation Impala features quad headlamps, sculptured rear fenders, and model-specific triple honeycomb taillights. This example is finished in Snowcrest White (936) and features a power-operated black soft top, a red boot cover, a driver-side mirror, fender skirts, and a Continental kit with Impala badging and extended rear bumpers. Steel 14” wheels wear Chevrolet-branded chrome covers and are mounted with 205/75 Coker Classic whitewall tires. A spare wheel wrapped with a BFGoodrich tire is found in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by front disc brakes and rear drums.
The cabin houses two rows of bench seats that are trimmed in red vinyl with gray, black, and red inserts along with red carpeting and brushed-aluminum trim on the dash and door panels. Lap belts are fitted for all occupants and amenities include a Chevrolet-branded cassette radio, an analog clock, and power windows.
A two-tone steering wheel fronts a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 27k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 348ci Super Turbo-Thrust V8 is equipped with a trio of Rochester two-barrel carburetors and sends power to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. An oil change was performed in August 2021.
