This 1958 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe was produced in Flint, Michigan, and was acquired by the current owner in 2018. Subsequent refurbishment work is said to have included repainting the exterior, replacing the weatherstripping, refreshing the interior, updating the braking system, and installing a Classic Auto Air climate control system. Its 348ci V8 is equipped with a Holley Sniper fuel-injection unit and is mated to a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission, and additional equipment includes power-assisted steering, front disc brakes, an aluminum radiator, and a Bluetooth-capable stereo. This Impala is now offered on behalf of the current owner in Canada with assorted spare parts and an Ontario registration document.
Introduced for 1958, the first-generation Impala features quad headlamps, sculptured rear fenders, and model-specific triple taillights. The body of this example was reportedly refinished in Silver Blue (930) during the refurbishment according to the seller, who notes that the brightwork was refinished and the weatherstripping replaced at that time. Paint touch-ups are noted on portions of the body, and exterior polishing is said to have been performed in preparation for the sale.
Steel 14″ wheels with spinner-style covers are fitted with 215/75 Coker Classic wide-whitewall tires. Full-size spares are stored within the trunk and rear-mounted Continental kit. The car has been fitted with a Borgeson power-steering box, and braking is provided by front discs and rear drums equipped with stainless-steel lines. The front wheel bearings were serviced in preparation for the sale according to the seller.
The interior features blue upholstery with tri-tone patterned cloth inserts on the front and rear bench seats. Blue carpets line the floors along with Chevrolet-branded floor mats, and additions include a Classic Auto Air climate control system and a Bluetooth-equipped vintage-style stereo.
Instrumentation consists of a sweeping 120-mph speedometer accompanied by gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer currently indicates 38k miles, approximately 1,500 of which have been added during current ownership.
The 348ci Turbo-Thrust V8 is equipped with a Holley Sniper fuel-injection unit and an HEI distributor. Additional features include an aluminum radiator equipped with an electric cooling fan, a Tanks Inc. fuel tank equipped with an in-tank pump, and a dual exhaust system. The shifter was adjusted and the air filter was replaced in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent rearward through a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission. Underside images included in the gallery below display the exhaust system, rear end, steering linkage, suspension, and X-frame.
