This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad is a two-door wagon produced at GM’s St. Louis, Missouri plant, and during prior ownership it was refurbished and modified. The exterior was refinished in two-tone turquoise and white, the two-tone blue interior was reupholstered, and a 350ci V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission were fitted. Additional modifications include a dual exhaust system, an Edelbrock carburetor, PerTronix ignition, an aluminum radiator with an electric cooling fan, front disc brakes, staggered-diameter Coys wheels, air conditioning, power windows, and a RetroSound stereo with USB input. The car was acquired by the seller in April 2020, and an oil change and fluid check were performed in preparation for the sale. This Chevy Nomad is now offered in California with refurbishment records, shop manuals, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.
The body was repainted in two-tone turquoise and white and features gold anodized trim, and ribbed-aluminum tail-fin inserts as well as a sloped B-pillar, sliding rear side windows, and a hidden fuel filler incorporated into the driver-side tail-fin trim. A short drive-off clip can be viewed here.
Coys wheels with a chrome finish measure 18″ in diameter up front and 20″ out back. Braking is provided by front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features twin bench seats trimmed in turquoise vinyl with dark blue textured inserts as well as matching door panel inserts, turquoise carpets, and blue rubber floor mats. Equipment includes a Vintage Air air-conditioning system, power windows, and a RetroSound stereo with USB input.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a combination speedometer and gear indicator flanked by gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows under 100 miles, around 60 of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The 350ci V8 is fitted with an Edelbrock Thunder-series carburetor, PerTronix electronic ignition, and a KKS Motorsports aluminum radiator with a Flex-a-Lite electric cooling fan. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a GM 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. The seller changed the engine oil and checked the fluids in November 2020.
