This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad station wagon is finished in two-tone turquoise and white and is powered by a 283ci V8 paired with a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Features include 14″ steel wheels with chrome covers, bright-finished trim, a dash-mounted analog clock, and wrap-around rear glass. The car was reportedly refurbished in the mid-2000s and was acquired by the selling dealer in March 2021. Subsequent service has included rebuilding the carburetor, replacing the speedometer cable, and adjusting the brakes and parking brake cable. This Nomad is now offered with a repair manual, a selection of spares, Nomad memorabilia, and a clean Kentucky title.
The body was repainted in the factory two-tone turquoise and white during a refurbishment completed during previous ownership. Features include wrap-around rear glass, “Bel Air” and “Nomad” badging, styled tailfins with brushed metal inserts, sliding rear windows, and chrome bumpers and trim. The selling dealer notes two areas of bubbling on the rear fenders, and close-up photos of the paintwork and trim can be viewed in the gallery below.
14″ steel wheels feature chrome hubcaps and wear Coker Classic whitewall tires. Service performed in preparation for sale reportedly included adjusting the brakes and parking brake cable as well as tightening the control arms. A power steering fluid leak is noted.
The two-tone interior features front and rear bench seats trimmed in turquoise vinyl with textured black inserts along with matching door panels and turquoise carpets. Features include a dash-mounted analog clock, a gold “Bel Air” dashboard badge, and a locking glove compartment. The selling dealer notes the driver-side window regulator has been adjusted. The heater blower motor does not work, and cracks and scratches are visible on the dash cap and dashboard.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a combination speedometer and gear indicator as well as fuel-level and temperature gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 75k miles, with total mileage unknown. The speedometer cable was reportedly replaced and is in need of adjustment.
The carbureted 283ci V8 drives the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. The selling dealer states that the carburetor was recently rebuilt and that there are leaks at the transmission side cover and rear main seal.
