This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air four-door hardtop sedan was acquired by the selling dealer in 2019 and was subsequently refurbished included fitment of replacement sheet metal and overhauls of the steering system, suspension, and brakes. The car is finished in coral with an ivory roof over gray and black upholstery and is powered by a 283ci V8 paired with a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes 14″ steel wheels, rear fender skirts, chrome-finished bumpers, a traffic light viewer, a dash-mounted clock, and a push-button AM radio. This Bel Air is now offered with a clean North Carolina title.
The car left the factory finished in two-tone Canyon Coral and India Ivory (817) and was repainted under previous ownership. The body was removed from the chassis and portions of the firewall, floors, and trunk were repaired with replacement sheet metal as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. Equipment includes a wrap-around windshield and rear window as well as rear fender skirts, gold-finished Bel Air trim, chrome-finished bumpers, and a Chevrolet-branded single exhaust outlet. Touch-up paint is visible on various body panels and can be seen up-close in the gallery.
Body-color 14″ steel wheels wear spinner-style covers and are mounted with Remington Cushion-Aire “Poly 4” tires. The seller states that the suspension bushings were replaced, various suspension components were refinished, and the steering system and brakes were overhauled under current ownership.
The cabin features bench seating trimmed in gray vinyl and black patterned inserts accompanied by color-coordinated door panels and black carpets. Additional appointments include a dash-mounted clock, a traffic light viewer, and a push-button AM radio. The seller notes that the blower motor is inoperative.
The gray two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 120-mph speedometer as well as auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 89k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.
The 283ci V8 sends power to the rear wheels via a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. The carburetor and generator were rebuilt and the fuel system was overhauled under current ownership, according to the seller. The engine oil and transmission fluid were changed in preparation for the sale.
The chassis is said to have been powder-coated as part of the refurbishment.
