This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is a two-door hardtop powered by a 350ci V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction rear end. Work under previous ownership is said to have included exterior and interior color changes, an engine replacement, installation of front disc brakes, and mounting of aftermarket wheels. The current owner reportedly acquired the car out of Texas approximately 20 years ago, and it received a new Holley carburetor, clutch, and pressure plate in 2018. This Bel Air is now offered on dealer consignment with a car cover and a clean Nevada title.
Finished from the factory in two-tone Matador Red and India Ivory (819D), the body was repainted in its current yellow finish under previous ownership according to the selling dealer. Additional photos in the gallery below highlight the condition of the exterior finish and trim.
Satin-finished 15″ aluminum wheels are mounted with a set of Big O Euro SXP tires. Front disc brakes are accompanied by a dual master cylinder.
Trimmed in two-tone black and red (676) from the factory, the interior features replacement two-tone seating upholstery, door panels, and carpeting. A wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, a Hurst shifter, and an aftermarket Idi eight-track player have been added.
Factory instrumentation is accompanied by an 8k-rpm Sun tachometer as well as a trio of Stewart Warner gauges mounted under dash. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 79k miles, with true mileage unknown. The seller notes squeaking from the steering column.
The replacement 350ci V8 was reportedly installed under previous ownership and is paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction rear end equipped with 4.11:1 gearing and traction bars. The Holley four-barrel carburetor, clutch, and pressure plate are said to have been installed new in 2018.
