This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is a four-door hardtop finished in Surf Green and Indian Ivory over green and is powered by a replacement 283ci V8 paired with a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Features include Bel Air trim, a heater with a defroster, manual four-wheel drum brakes, 14″ steel wheels with chrome covers, BFGoodrich whitewall tires, a dual-outlet exhaust with glasspack mufflers, and a push-button AM radio. The car was acquired by the seller in 1995 and was subsequently refurbished. This Bel Air is offered in Canada with a spare electric wiper motor and Ontario registration.
The car is said to have been refinished in Surf Green with an Indian Ivory roof during current ownership. Features include chrome bumpers and trim, contrasting quarter-panel inserts, hooded headlamps, gold emblems, twin wind splits on the hood, and a dual-outlet exhaust that exits below the rear bumper.
The 14″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial whitewall tires. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk. Braking is provided by unassisted four-wheel drums. A dual-master cylinder has been installed.
The cabin features two rows of bench seats upholstered in green vinyl with black patterned cloth inserts. Equipment includes a heater and defroster, an analog clock, and a push-button AM radio. The front passenger door only opens from inside the vehicle.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 66k miles. The odometer was replaced and total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 283ci V8 features a black air clear lid and orange Chevrolet-script valve covers.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. The transmission leaks.
