This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is a two-door hardtop that is finished in red over a two-tone red and black interior, and it is powered by a replacement 283ci V8 paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. The car was reportedly refurbished approximately 10 years ago during prior ownership, with work including a repaint and the installation of the replacement V8. Additional equipment includes an AM radio, rear wheel skirts, and a dual exhaust system. This Bel Air is now offered with a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
The body was repainted in its current red during the previous ownership and features an integrated front bumper and grille, dual antennas, twin wind splits on the hood, and silver anodized trim on the quarter panels.
Red-painted 14″ steel wheels wear Chevrolet-branded covers and Goodyear wide whitewall tires. Skirts are fitted over the rear wheels.
The seats are trimmed in red vinyl with black cloth inserts and are accompanied by matching door and side panels as well as black carpeting. Amenities include a clock mounted above the glovebox, an AM Radio, and wing windows.
The two-spoke steering wheel with a chrome trim ring fronts a body-color steel dashboard housing a 120-mph speedometer, a temperature gauge, and a fuel level gauge. Aftermarket auxiliary gauges are also mounted below the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 3k miles, with true mileage unknown.
The replacement 283ci small-block V8 breathes through a recently rebuilt carburetor. Additional recent work included an oil change. The seller notes that the battery will drain if the car is left sitting.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. The seller reports a recent repair to the column shifter.
The factory serial number tag is missing, and the car is titled by an assigned Iowa VIN. The current Texas title lists the leading “I” as a “1” and is shown in the gallery.
