This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad is powered by a 350ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in red and white over matching upholstery. Features include power steering, a lowered suspension, power front disc brakes, 17″ Chrome US Mags wheels, an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Holley Brawler carburetor, tubular exhaust headers, power windows, and a push-button radio. The car was refurbished and modified under prior ownership and acquired by the selling dealer in 2022. This Bel Air Nomad is now offered with a clean Indiana title.
The body was repainted in red and white under previous ownership and features a wrap-around windshield, two-piece tailgate, fender-mounted wind splits, dual mirrors, chrome bumpers, and twin tail fins with a concealed fuel filler under the left taillight assembly. The liftgate was reportedly straightened and the side and rear windows, taillights, weather stripping, and chrome components are said to have been replaced under prior ownership. The letter “N” is missing from the rear Nomad badge.
Chrome 17″ US Mags wheels are mounted with 215/55 Zeetex HP1000 tires. The car is equipped with a lowered suspension and power-assisted steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The bench seats and door panels have been reupholstered in white and red vinyl, and interior features include a floor-mounted shifter, a cabin heater, an analog clock, a Chevrolet-branded rubber floor mat, power windows, and a push-button radio. The seat cushion foam, wiring, and carpets are said to have been installed under previous ownership and sound-deadening material has been fitted.
The two-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a tilting Ididit column and frames a 110-mph speedometer and gauges measuring coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles, approximately 150 of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.
The 350ci V8 was installed under previous ownership and features an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Holley Brawler carburetor, a chrome alternator, and tubular exhaust headers. The oil was changed in early 2023. There are paint chips on the cross-bracing on the underside of the hood.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. A dual exhaust system with chambered mufflers has been installed.
