This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air is a two-door hardtop finished in red and white over matching two-tone vinyl upholstery and is powered by a replacement 350ci ZZ4 V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes staggered-diameter polished alloy wheels, power-assisted steering and brakes, an air suspension system, a Currie 9″ limited-slip rear differential, chrome bumpers, air conditioning, a heater, and a retro-style AM/FM push-button stereo. The car is said to have been refurbished in 2008 and spent time in Texas before being acquired by the current owner in 2010. This Bel Air is offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with service records and a clean California title.
Finished from the factory in Crocus Yellow and Laurel Green (717D), the car was repainted in two-tone red and white during previous ownership. Equipment includes chrome bumpers, Bel Air trim and badging, a driver-side mirror, a hood ornament, factory tinted windows, and dual exhaust outlets that exit below the rear bumper. Blemishes are shown up close in the gallery below.
Polished 18″ and 20″ five-spoke wheels are mounted with 225/40 front and 245/40 rear Nitto NT555 tires that show date codes from 2008 and 2009. The car is equipped with power steering, front and rear sway bars, and an adjustable air suspension system with a trunk-mounted compressor and tank. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features a front split bench and a rear bench that were reupholstered in red and white vinyl during previous ownership. Amenities include air conditioning, quarter vent windows, bright dash trim accents, and a retro-style AM/FM push-button stereo connected to aftermarket speakers mounted in the kick panels and rear deck and a 6-disc CD changer mounted in the trunk.
The three-spoke steering wheel is mounted on a tilting column and fronts a red-finished dash that houses a 110-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. An aftermarket Sunpro tachometer and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage are mounted beneath the dash. The five-digit odometer shows less than 28k miles, approximately 3k of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 350ci ZZ4 V8 was installed during previous ownership and is equipped with a single four-barrel carburetor, GM Performance Fast Burn aluminum cylinder heads, black Chevrolet-branded valve covers, and a Be Cool aluminum radiator with dual electric fans.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed 700R4 automatic transmission and a Currie 9″ limited-slip rear differential. Additional underbody photos are shown in the gallery below.
