This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air street rod is finished in two-tone green and white over tan leather and is powered by a 350ci V8 paired with a 700R4 four-speed automatic overdrive transmission. The car has been refurbished and is equipped with a reinforced frame, air suspension, replacement wiring, glass, and weather seals, front bucket seats, and power steering. Additional features include staggered-diameter wheels, a 9″ Ford rear end, an aftermarket gauge cluster, and a Kenwood stereo system. Acquired by the selling dealer in December 2020, this Bel Air street rod is now offered with manufacturer’s literature and a clean Illinois title.
The body was refinished in gold pearl Mercedes green and white during previous ownership, and the seller states that the glass and weather seals were also replaced at that time. Close-up photos of the body panels, brightwork, and custom pinstriping are provided in the gallery.
Intro Twisted Vista alloy wheels measure 18″ and 20″ and are wrapped in 235/40 and 275/35 Nitto NT555 tires. Air suspension from RideTech/Air Ride Technologies is fitted, and the car also features power steering and four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin features front bucket and rear bench seats upholstered in tan leather along with a console-mounted shifter and cupholders. The doors can be opened by remote control, and a Kenwood stereo and front seat belts have been fitted.
A three-spoke steering fronts an aftermarket gauge cluster with a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and voltage. The digital odometer was reset during the refurbishment and displays 63 miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 350ci small-block V8 sits behind a polished aluminum radiator with dual fans and features aluminum cylinder heads, a Holley 750 carburetor, and chrome accessories. Exhaust headers are connected to a 2.5″ ceramic-coated dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers and side exits.
The seller states that the driveline consists of a 700R4 overdrive transmission and a Williams Chassis Works 9″ Ford rear end with 3.70 gears. A stainless steel gas tank and lines have been fitted, and additional cross members have reportedly been added to the frame.
