This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 210 was built for the 2016 SEMA show by ProRides of Pennsylvania and powered by a supercharged 427ci LSX V8 paired with a Bowler Performance Transmissions six-speed manually-shifted automatic transmission with a Gear Vendors overdrive and Currie 9-inch rear axle. The car coined “X-BOX” is finished in two-tone Volvo Battleship Grey with a metallic blue over black leather and features body modifications, a custom interior with an integrated roll cage, an F2 Procharger, an Art Morrison MaxG chassis with Corvette C6 front suspension and switchable three-link or four-link rear suspension, Ridetech adjustable coilovers, six-piston Wilwood disc brakes, and custom B-Forged wheels. Additional equipment consists of a Holley induction system controlled by a Dominator engine control unit, Mastershifter paddle shift system, custom exhaust system, Old Air climate control, Dakota Digital VHX instrumentation, a Painless Performance fuse panel and wiring harness, and a JL Audio sound system. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2019. This modified Bel Air is offered with a clean Ohio title.
The car is finished in a two-tone BASF Glasurit Volvo Battleship Grey with metallic blue at the rear trim line. The body is said to feature over 100 modifications including a wedge cut roof, modified pillar angle, rounded window openings, custom parking lamps with air inlets and LED turn signals, a chopped windshield, flipped bumpers, a three-dimensional hood drop down with a raised center for intake clearance, a custom cowl which continues into the dash, a modified front bumper with a splitter and functional air inlets, rear brake duct cut-outs in the quarter panels, raised front fender lips, Ring Brothers billet door handles, fabricated mirrors, and a machined grille, exterior trim, and light bezels.
The body-colored 19″ and 20″ B-Forged three-piece 180SL wheels wear 275/35 front and 345/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Braking is provided by Wilwood 14-inch rotors and six-piston calipers all around. The car features an Art Morrison MaxG chassis with Corvette C6 independent front suspension, and a switchable three-link or four-link rear suspension with Ridetech double-adjustable coilovers at all four corners. Detroit Speed power rack and pinion steering with adjustable tie rod ends has been fitted along with front and rear sway bars and a rear Watts link.
The cabin features bolstered front bucket seats with black leather upholstery. Interior equipment includes a fabricated dashboard that carries the cowl into the cabin, push-button starter, climate control, JL Audio sound system with a subwoofer, power windows, Schroth racing harnesses, floating headrests, a fire extinguisher, an integrated roll cage, and a custom center console, door panels, armrests, and trim. Machined items include pedals, touch-activated switchgear, dash trim, door pulls, and cup holders. The seller notes that the air conditioning does not work, and the fire extinguisher is empty.
The Billet Specialities steering wheel is mounted on a Flaming River adjustable column and sits ahead of Mastershifter paddle shifters and a Dakota Digital VHX instrumentation with a 160-mph speedometer and 10k-rpm tachometer flanked by gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature. The vehicle does not have a working odometer. Total mileage is unknown.
The 427ci LSX V8 is said to have been built by Katech and features a Callies LS Pro crank and rods, Diamond pistons, a Dallas Performance supercharger camshaft, Brodix aluminum cylinder heads, LS7 rockers, custom billet valve covers with built-in oilers, DeatschWerks 2,200cc E85 injectors, a Holley hi-rise intake and fuel rails, hidden coils, a Dominator engine management system, a ProCharger F2 supercharger, air-to-air intercooler, and a Be Cool Aluminum radiator. Dress-up components include a custom firewall and wheel tubs, hidden fluid tanks and custom fillers, finished valve covers, a shaved intake, a reversed 102mm throttle body, and a color-matched serpentine drive, fuel rails, and lines. Exhaust is sent through headers, KOOKS stainless tubing, and Flowmaster mufflers. The car has been tuned by Domin8 tuning in 2021 and has had fluids and fuel injectors changed in preparation for sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Bowler Performance Transmissions six-speed manually-shifted automatic transmission with a Gear Vendors overdrive and 9-inch Currie rear axle with a 3.50:1 gear ratio and 35-spline axles. The transmission utilizes a Pro-Torque torque converter.
