This 1955 Chevrolet 210 Townsman has been fitted with a 5.3-liter LS V8 and a 3-speed TH400 automatic transmission. The car has been driven approximately 1k miles since the seller’s acquisition in 2016 and modifications include a pair of long tube headers, glass-pack mufflers, 2″ drop spindles, a GM disc brake kit, color-matched steel wheels, and more as detailed below. The interior features tweed bench seats and has been fitted with new door seals, carpets, seat belts, and electric wipers. A service one year ago included a mechanical inspection and an oil/filter change. This Townsman is now being offered with a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.
The exterior was repainted in a two-tone red/white scheme and stainless brightwork looks good in gallery photos. The suspension has been lowered using 2″ drop spindles, the front brakes have been converted to discs. A power brake master cylinder is fitted.
Red painted steel wheels wear newer whitewall radial tires and the seller notes that all the windows, seals, rubber, and felts were replaced during the refurbishment.
The interior is upholstered in tweed cloth with a red dashboard and door panels to match the exterior paint. An OBDII connector is located inside the cabin and allows for both tuning and diagnostics. New carpets have been fitted, along a headliner, sun visors, and a windlace. The speedometer is currently inoperable and the odometer shows 93k miles, though true mileage is unknown.
A toggle switch controls the windshield wipers and the rear hatch includes new struts and cables. A rear dome light has been added.
Power comes from a 5.3-liter LS V8 mated to TH400 3-speed automatic transmission. The engine was installed by the previous owner and reportedly had 88k. Engine management modifications include a standalone Painless Performance wiring harness, and drivetrain harness. An aluminum radiator is mounted and the Lokar floor-shifter is connected to the TH400 transmission.
Exhaust is routed through a pair of long-tube headers into a dual exhaust and glass-pack mufflers with turndown tips. A few photos of the underbody can be seen in the gallery below.
